Introduction
Managing access for a household with multiple family members – from young children to elderly parents – requires flexible, granular access control. FEOCEY’s family access management features are designed to give every family member appropriate access while maintaining security and visibility.
Family Member Profiles
Creating Individual Profiles
Each family member should have their own access code. This allows you to track who is coming and going, and to revoke individual access without affecting other family members. To create a profile:
- Open FEOCEY Home App and navigate to Access Management
- Select Add User and enter the family member’s name
- Assign a unique 4-8 digit access code
- Set their access schedule (always, weekdays only, etc.)
- Configure notification preferences for their access events
Children’s Access
For children who do not have smartphones, assign them a simple 4-digit code they can use at the keypad. Set up notifications so you receive an alert every time they unlock the door – this lets parents know children have arrived home safely.
Elderly Family Members
For elderly parents who may struggle with technology, the keypad provides the most reliable access. Their code works even if the internet is down, the app is down, or their phone battery is dead. Set up remote notifications so you know when they enter or exit.
Access Schedules
Permanent Access
Family members with permanent access can use their code at any time. This is appropriate for all permanent residents.
Time-Restricted Access
For family members who should only access the home during certain hours (e.g., a cleaner who comes on Tuesdays from 10 AM to 2 PM), create a schedule-restricted code. The code will not work outside the designated time windows.
One-Time Access Codes
Generate a code that works exactly once – useful for letting in a guest, a delivery person, or a repair technician. The code expires immediately after first use.
Activity Monitoring for Families
The FEOCEY Home App provides a real-time activity feed showing every unlock and lock event, who performed it (which code was used), and when. You can filter this feed by:
- Specific family member
- Date range
- Access method (app, keypad code, or physical key)
Emergency Access Procedures
If a Family Member Is Locked Out
Use the remote unlock feature in the FEOCEY Home App to unlock the door from anywhere. Alternatively, generate a one-time access code and text it to them.
If the App Is Not Working
Physical keys serve as the ultimate backup. Ensure every adult family member has a copy of the physical key and knows where to find it in an emergency.
