Introduction
One of the most common concerns about smart locks is installation complexity. The FEOCEY X GEN1 was designed to eliminate that worry. With just a Phillips screwdriver and about 8 minutes, most homeowners can install this lock without professional help. Here is the complete walkthrough.
Before You Start
Gather these items from the box:
- Main lock body
- Mounting bracket
- Faceplate (optional, for covering oversized holes)
- 3x CR123A batteries (included)
- 4 adapters for different lock cylinder types
- 2 long screws + 2 short screws
You will also need a Phillips screwdriver, your smartphone, and the FEOCEY Home App downloaded.
Step 1: Remove Your Existing Thumb Turn
Start by placing a piece of tape over the front of your existing deadbolt to protect the surface. Remove the two screws holding the thumb turn in place, then slide the entire assembly out from the interior side of the door.
Step 2: Install the Mounting Bracket
Take the mounting bracket and orient it so the “DOOR SIDE” label faces toward the exterior of your home. If your door has oversized mounting holes, attach the faceplate first to cover them. Insert two long screws through the bracket and tighten firmly.
Select the adapter that matches your lock cylinder type and insert it into the bracket slot.
Step 3: Install the FEOCEY X Lock
Critical: The LED must face downward when the lock is mounted.
For left-hand doors (standing outside, hinges on the left):
- To extend the latch: rotate the turn knob clockwise
- To retract the latch: rotate counterclockwise
For right-hand doors (standing outside, hinges on the right):
- To extend the latch: rotate counterclockwise
- To retract the latch: rotate clockwise
Once the orientation is correct, slide the lock onto the bracket until it clicks into place.
Step 4: Power On
Press the LED area to pop open the battery cover. Insert 3 CR123A batteries, close the cover, and wait a few seconds. The lock will emit a confirmation tone. Download and open the FEOCEY Home App to complete setup.
Connecting to Wi-Fi
The lock supports 2.4GHz networks only (802.11b/g/n). During app setup, the lock will enter pairing mode automatically. Follow the in-app instructions to connect to your home network.
