Introduction
Setting up the FEOCEY X GEN1 for the first time involves two parallel processes: physical installation on your door and digital setup in the FEOCEY Home App. This guide focuses entirely on the digital side: connecting your lock to Wi-Fi and pairing it with the app.
Prerequisites
- FEOCEY X GEN1 installed on your door with batteries inserted
- FEOCEY Home App installed on iOS or Android
- A 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (the lock does not support 5GHz networks)
- Your Wi-Fi network password
Step 1: Create Your FEOCEY Account
Open the FEOCEY Home App and tap Sign Up. Enter your email address and create a strong password. Verify your email by clicking the link sent to your inbox. Two-factor authentication is highly recommended.
Step 2: Add Your Lock
Tap the + button or Add Device in the app. Select FEOCEY X GEN1 from the lock list. The app will prompt you to put the lock into pairing mode.
How to enter pairing mode: Press the LED area of your lock to open the battery cover. Remove one battery and reinsert it while holding the lock button. The LED will flash rapidly, indicating pairing mode is active.
Step 3: Connect to Wi-Fi
The app will scan for available networks. Select your 2.4GHz network from the list. Enter your Wi-Fi password. The lock will attempt to connect. This may take 30-60 seconds. Do not power off the lock during this process.
If the connection fails, check that your phone is on the same network you are trying to connect the lock to, and verify your Wi-Fi password.
Step 4: Name Your Lock
Give your lock a name that makes it easy to identify, especially if you have multiple locks. Common names include Front Door, Back Door, or Office Entrance.
Troubleshooting Connection Issues
Lock Not Appearing in App
Ensure the lock is in pairing mode (LED flashing rapidly). Try removing and reinserting a battery to restart the pairing process.
Wi-Fi Network Not Found
The lock only detects 2.4GHz networks. If your router broadcasts both 2.4GHz and 5GHz on the same SSID, you may need to temporarily disable 5GHz or rename the networks to distinguish them.
Wrong Password Error
Double-check your Wi-Fi password. Special characters in passwords can sometimes cause issues. If problems persist, try changing your Wi-Fi password to one without special characters temporarily for setup.
Connection Drops After Setup
Move your router closer to the lock during setup to ensure a strong initial connection. After setup, if the lock shows as offline, the Wi-Fi signal may be weak at the lock’s location. Consider a Wi-Fi range extender.
After Setup: Verify Connection
Once connected, try locking and unlocking the door from the app while standing away from the door. Confirm you receive a push notification with each event. This confirms end-to-end connectivity is working properly.
